Twinkle Khanna backs Kareena Kapoor Khan amidst ‘ridiculous reports’ blaming latter for attack on Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an intruder at his Bandra West home on January 16, post which he had to be rushed to Lilavati hospital, and underwent multiple surgeries. The incident shocked the whole entertainment industry, and now Twinkle Khanna has spoken about the incident and slammed the rumormills blaming actor’s wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan. She cited more examples of wives being blamed, like Anushka Sharma getting booed for Virat Kohli’s wicket during a match.

Twinkle penned a column for Times of India, a part of which she also shared on her Instagram handle. In her piece, the actress revealed that she double-checked the window locks of her home since many people have been feeling vulnerable after the attack on Saif.

“After an actor was stabbed, ridiculous rumours swirled that his wife hadn’t been at home or had been too intoxicated to help him during the assault. People just enjoyed shifting the blame onto the wife,” she wrote in her lengthy caption. Furthermore, she remarked how when Beatles split, Yoko Ono was blamed.

The actress also talked about how Melania Trump is often criticized for her silence over husband, US President Donald Trump’s, policies, and Jill Biden was blamed for pushing her husband, Joe Biden, to continue his campaign. “When Virat Kohli gets out, then Anushka gets booed.
This is a widespread issue, not limited to couples in the public eye,” further read.

She concluded by saying, “In this context, I suppose it’s accurate to say that behind every man, loser or leader, stands a woman who is about to be vilified, at the drop of a hat, or with it firmly on her head.”

Coming back to the incident of Saif, since coming back home from hospital, the actor has hired a security agency for the protection of his family.
