There are only a few actors in the television industry who dare to speak about the quality of content being dispersed to the audiences. The content varies from endless dramatic rants in Saas-bahu shows to Naagin dancing in an ancient temple and in some shows wizards corrupting the mind of someone else’s husband. It is not our views we are just conveying actress Chahatt Khanna’s views on Television and how she perceives content on television.
A few days ago, Chahatt made headlines for starring in a music video titled ‘Quarantine Love’ sung by Mika Singha. In her telly career, she has been a part of some famous shows namely, ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain’, ‘Qubool Hai’, ‘Kumkum’, among others.
But recently in an interview she unveiled that she has never seen her own shows and in fact finds Telly content rather silly. She also revealed that she never advised her family or friends to watch these shows.
In an interaction with Indian Express she stated that TV corrupts indian audiences and soon everything will be shifted to OTT content. “I have never watched television. In fact, I have never seen my shows. TV is very silly. I cannot relate to ‘naagin yahan dance kar rahi hai, chudail wala dance kar rahi hai. Iske pati ne jadu tona kardiya hai. Uski patni bol rahi hai ki main apne pati ko maut ke muh se laungi…’ I cannot relate to such stuff. I am one of them but I have not done any such work. ‘Humari bholi bhali audience ko itna pagal banate hai TV wale’ (They make a fool out of the audience).”
Though she considers that the silly TV provides her bread and butter, she is in strong disagreement with the content that is being served to the Indian audiences. “I know it is my bread-butter but then you cannot play with people’s mind like that. However, as an actor, it is a safe medium because of its predictability. I can be a part of a series like Bade Acche Lagte Hain but cannot be daayan or chudail,” she quipped in the same interview.

Apart from this, Chhahat also revealed that she is preparing for another music video with Mika Singh which will be out soon for the fans and followers.
