Rajesh Khanna was one of the biggest stars of the Hindi cinema. He had a huge fan following during his tenure and was termed as the first superstar. The actor won over audience’s hearts with his astonishing performance during the peak of his career. However, there have been severe downfalls for him as well.
Recently, a video has been surfacing over the internet which features Rajesh Khanna’s daughter Twinkle Khanna. In the clip, a journalist is seen asking Twinkle if she would be willing to write a book on his father’s life. The actress replies to it by saying “no”.
Twinkle is an author now, who has published her novels over time. She added, “I am interested in stories which have layers to it, which have more ramifications. It is great to write a story on a single person, but for that, there has to be layers and their stories need to have message.”
The actress’s reply caused a stir on the internet. It had polarizing views among netizens. While some supported her opinion and said it would be difficult for her to document many ill events that happened in her father’s life. Some were of the opinion that she didn’t understood her father well and wasn’t even close to him.
When Rajesh Khanna was alive, he was asked if he would like to write his biography. The late actor replied to it by saying, “If I tell you the truth about my life, I will have to let down the honour of many. I will not be able to do this.”
The actor revealed if he wrote about his life, he will have to name a few names and it would hurt their feelings. If he would write about his life, he wants it to be honest. And that wouldn’t happen as it involve many complexities.
