Having said that, sometimes irrespective of belonging to famous families many actors made it big own their own in Bollywood. Few of these actors are:
Varun Dhawan – He made his big screen debut in 2012 with Karan Johar directorial ‘Student of the year’, produced by Hiroo Yash Johar and Gauri Khan. Varun’s father David Dhawan is a popular film director of the 1990s. He has given the gift of Bollywood classics like Judwaa, Coolie no. 1, Hero no.1, Biwi no. 1, Gharwali Baharwali, Mr and Mrs Khiladi, etc.
Alia Bhatt – Just like Varun, Alia made her Bollywood debut with ‘Student of the year’, irrespective of being the daughter of a popular film producer, director and screenwriter Mahesh Bhatt.
Ranbir Kapoor – He is the son of famous Bollywood actor couple- Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh. However, his first film ‘Saawariya’ alongside Anil Kapoor’s daughter Sonam Kapoor was directed and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Kareena Kapoor Khan – Daughter of famous actors Randhir Kapoor and Babita Shivdasani and sister of popular actress Karisma Kapoor made her Bollywood debut with 2000’s hit film Refugee which was written, directed and produced by J.P. Dutta.
Tiger Shroff – He is the son of a popular 80s-90s actor Jai Kishan Kakubhai Shroff also known as Jackie Shroff made his debut in Bollywood with ‘Heropanti’ in 2014. This film was directed by Sabbir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
