The cricketer last tweet dated January 8, 2021, and faced a decline in chirp since 2018.
He even chose to share his retirement news on Instagram and not on Twitter.
Among many other sports celebrities, he was also one who often got trolled online.
Though the reason remains unsuspected, this could be one of the possibilities along with the inactiveness that he decided to abstain from the micro-blogging site altogether.
Dhoni joined the platform back in November 2009 with over 8.2 million followers who couldn’t get enough of the star player ‘Mahi’.
The fans went haywire over the incident and tweeted in millions questioning the reason behind the missing tick.
