Renowned filmmaker Karan Johar has lately made waves for his film “Kill,” which made its world debut at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Guneet Monga Kapoor’s Sikhya Entertainment are now collaborating with director Collin D’Cunha on a new project. They’re working on a Hindi remake of the iconic French comedy classic “The Intouchables.”

Fans of the original French film, “The Intouchables,” will be pleased to learn that an Indian remake is in the works. Karan Johar acknowledged his delight about this cooperation, which marks the fourth time these two filmmaking titans have collaborated. He described it as a creative challenge and an exciting opportunity.

He said, “We are committed to bringing the essence of this beloved French film to the Indian audience while infusing it with our cultural sensibilities. Collaborating with Guneet once again is an exciting prospect, and I am confident that this project will touch the hearts of viewers across the country.”

Guneet Monga Kapoor is also thrilled about this initiative. She believes that “The Intouchables” has always been an iconic and celebrated film around the world, and she is thrilled to bring this project to India. The original French film, directed by Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache, was widely praised for its moving plot and outstanding performances by François Cluzet and Omar Sy.

“The Intouchables” is the story of two adult men from very different origins who join together to help each other overcome various life obstacles. The Hindi remake of this French classic strives to retain the original’s enchantment while adding a distinct Indian touch that will appeal to Indian audiences.

On the work front, Karan Johar is all set to return with the new season of Koffee With Karan only on Disney+Hotstar starting on October 26, 2023.
