Tanushree Dutta made it to headlines in 2018 after she accused senior actor Nana Patekar of harassing and misbehaving with her in 2008 on a film set. She has also accused three other people, along with Nana. Recently, reports surfaced online claiming that a Mumbai court has dismissed the actress’ plea and has granted relief to Nana in the harassment case, she had filed against him. Reacting to it, Tanushree has penned a lengthy note on her Instagram handle and labelled it ‘fake’.
She wrote, “Please do not believe any fake news! The false and malicious B Summary report was rejected by court, not my sexual harassment case against Nana Patekar… So that basically means that sexual harassment case on Nana Patekar is still open. Every year Nana’s PR team spreads this kind of false rumours about case being closed and this is also the same crying wolf again.”
Her note also mentioned that a chargesheet will be filed against Nana soon, and he is aware of it. She also claimed that the original case was not even presented in court yes, as current hearing were only on the B summary report filed by police in 2019.
Tanushree also described the rejection of B Summary as a “small victory” for her, and added that allegedly a lot of money in being pumped to create false media stories. She concluded saying, “Case against him not closed. Fact check please!”
For the unversed, at the peak of the MeToo movement in India, Tanushree had accused Nana of inappropriate behavior on the set of Horn Ok Pleassss in 2008. Later in 2018, she filed an FIR at the Oshiwara police station in which she alleged harassment by Nana.
