The NCB has arrested late Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput’s roommate Siddharth Pithani in connection with the actor’s death in June of last year. According to sources, the NCB apprehended Pithani in Hyderabad. The government authorities questioned him several times. The arrest comes just weeks before the first anniversary of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
Pithani has previously been questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Narcotics Control Bureau. In reality, in September 2020, he was questioned by the CBI for many days in a row.
While neither agency has provided any substantial developments on the investigation, the NCB has questioned Rhea, her brother Showik, and SSR’s home staff, and even arrested them. They have been released on bond. The FBI also questioned and arrested a number of celebrities from the film business.
Following the death of Rajput (34) in June last year, the NCB initiated an investigation into the suspected usage of narcotics in some areas of Bollywood. The central agency launched its investigation based on certain drug-related WhatsApp communications. The NCB has detained Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, several Rajput employees, and a few others under different provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS). Rhea Chakraborty, Showik, and other suspects are all free on bond.
On June 14, 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput’s body was discovered at his Bandra flat.
