Sushant Singh Rajput made his debut in Bollywood with Abhishek Kapoor’s directorial, Kai Po Che. He was starred in several super-hit movies like Shudh Desi Romance, PK, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Kedarnath, Sonchiriya, Drive and Chhichhore.
Amidst lockdown, the entire entertainment industry was on a pause. All the shoots and plays were ceased. However, after the imposition of unlock stage 1, the entertainment industry has started re-shooting their films that were left in between.
Sushant Singh Rajput was all set to work in Mukesh Chhabra’s first directorial Dil Bechara, also starring Sanjana Sanghi and Saif Ali Khan. The romantic drama based on John Green’s 2013 bestseller, ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ was slated to release on May 8 but got delayed due to the pandemic.
As the actor bid his adieu to the world, he left behind all the movies he was going to do. He was to star in Rumy Jafry’s yet to be titled romantic comedy along with rumoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty.
In an exclusive conversation with Mumbai Mirror, Rumy Jafry revealed that he didn’t have too many friends in the industry but he was very passionate about his work. Sushant kept reading his script even during the lockdown and was keen on a joint narration. He was looking forward to starting work on the film soon and every time the lockdown was extended, he would get upset because he wanted to get back to work and rehearse.
Moreover, he was also going to be seen in Rifleman based on the life of Maha Vir Chakra awardee Jaswant Singh Rawat. Unfortunately, the film soon ran into legal trouble after the makers of 72 Hours: Martyr Who Never Died claimed they had the original rights to make a film on Jaswant Singh’s life. Lastly, Sushant Singh Rajput had planned to essay 12 real-life characters, including political strategist Chanakya, poet Rabindranath Tagore and former Indian president APJ Abdul Kalam, in a biopic series.
