The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has rejected Patna Ranger IGP Sanjay Singh’s request to waive off Patna SP Vinay Tiwari from the quarantine. Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey has called BMC’s decision “unfortunate.”

Under the COVID-19 regulations, Vinay Tiwari an IPS officer has been asked by the BMC to quarantine for 14 days. He came to Mumbai to investigate Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case conducted by the Bihar Police. Sanjay Singh had written a letter to the BMC Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal, to relieve Vinay Tiwari’s quarantine. He said it is creating an obstruction and delay in the case.

Moreover, the Centre has accepted the Bihar government’s recommendation to let CBI take the case in their hands. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had recommended a CBI inquiry on Tuesday. He told ANI that Sushant’s father had conversed with Bihar’s DGP and given his consent for CBI’s probe in the case.

For the uninformed, Sushant’s family has filed an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty in Bihar and the investigation has accelerated ever since. Since the FIR against Rhea, there have been many new sides to the case. A four-member team has been sent from the Bihar Police to Mumbai for the investigation. The Mumbai Police is yet onboard with the case looking out for all aspects, the Bihar Police will be investigating for the charges of theft and abetment of suicide.
