Sushant Singh Rajput case: Rhea Chakraborty’s FIR against Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters ‘invalid’

The FIR filed by Rhea Chakraborty against sisters of the late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput, are “speculative and presumptive” according to CBI.

There have been multiple FIRs filed against various people in relation to the late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput‘s death. The actor died on 14th June and ever since he passed away, there have been many speculations regarding the cause of the death and the person responsible for the death. Involvement of drugs in the death of the actor opened a whole new chapter in the investigation and it even involved big names of Bollywood. Actress Rhea Chakraborty was taken under custody for allegedly being responsible for the death of the actor but was granted bail after a month in jail.  Rhea Chakraborty also filed an FIR against the sisters of Sushant Singh Rajput, Priyanka Singh and Meetu Singh, for being the helping hand so that the Kai Po Che actor could gain access to drugs by using fake prescriptions. However, CBI has called the FIR done by the actress “presumptive and speculative” in nature in the Bombay High Court.

In the hearing today, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) called the FIR “vitiated and bad in law” in the Bombay High Court to oppose it. CBI also backed up the petitions filed by the sister duo to dismiss the FIR by calling it “presumptive and speculative”. According to NDTV, CBI was quoted saying, “Mumbai Police or Rhea Chakraborty had any information on the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, it should have been directly shared with the CBI for action; the FIR registered at the Bandra police station was not required.” The agency was also quoted telling the Bombay High Court that “The CBI is conducting investigation meticulously and professionally without being hindered by any external factor and would thoroughly look into each and every aspect relating to the death of Late Sushant Singh Rajput in a fair and impartial manner.” Bombay HC was further told by CBI that they are investigating the role of each and every person and “whosoever had instigated or abetted the commission of suicide by the deceased is being investigated”.
