As the Maharashtra state government made a decision to not permit cast and crew above 65 years to the shoot, actress Sikri voiced her opinion against it. In an interview with Hindustan Times, she said that she is only getting ad films as of now.

In an interview, she said, “But nothing has been finalised yet. Again, these won’t be sufficient. I need to do more work to take care of my medical bills and other expenses. I think producers aren’t ready to take the risk,”

There were reports doing rounds that, Sikri at the age of 75, had to ask for loans from her friends, to manage her daily expenses which made her upset. She reacted to this and said, ” I don’t want any wrong impression to be created among people that I am going around begging people for money. I don’t want charity. Yes many have reached out to me, which is very kind of them. I really feel grateful. But I’ve not taken anything from anyone. Give me work and I want to earn respectfully,”

Sikri also mentioned that “if politicians who are above 65 are permitted to work then why the government are restricting senior actors to work? Many of us are going through bad times, and we need money to survive.”

The national award winner actress concluded her interview by mentioning that she is ready to take all the necessary precautions while working on the sets and soon her manager will be writing a letter to the state government regarding this matter.
