Sonu Sood, who has made a name for himself outside the movie industry by helping common people during the pandemic, has done another feat. The actor along with his friend Karan Gilhotra, installed a mobile tower in Morni Haryana, to enable uninterrupted connectivity with Indus towers and Airtel.
The issues of connectivity problems were brought to light when a video was put on social media tagging the actor. In that video, a child from Dapana village, Morni, was sitting on a tree branch to catch mobile signals to help other children complete their homework. A report by Bollywood Hungama quoted the actor talking about this initiative. In it, the actor said “Children are the future of our nation and they deserve an equal chance to a better future. I believe such challenges should never stop anyone from reaching their full potential. It is my honor to help set up a mobile tower in the remote village to help these kids access online classes. They no longer have to climb trees to catch mobile signals.”
The actor has been helping people in need for a long time now. His efforts were recently recognized and were awarded the Special Humanitarian Action Award by the UNDP.
