Singer Bappi Lahiri admitted to the hospital after testing COVID-19 positive

Singer and music composer Bappi Lahiri recently tested positive for COVID-19 after taking first dose of vaccine.

Bappi Lahiri was taken to the hospital and admitted after he was diagnosed with COVID-19. Reema Lahiri, his daughter, confirmed the same and said he has been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in south Mumbai. The veteran singer and music composer tested COVID-19 positive on Wednesday.

“Bappi Da has exercised immense precaution but has been detected with mild Covid symptoms. He has been admitted under the care of Dr Udwadia at Breach Candy Hospital purely as a precautionary measure due to his age. He will be fine and home soon. Thank You for keeping him in your prayers always,” Reema wrote in her statement.

“He seeks blessings and wishes of his fans, friends & everyone from India and abroad. On behalf of Bappi Da, we passing his message to all his well-wishers and fans to stay healthy, stay blessed,” she added.

Recently, the singer had announced on his social media handle that he had pre-registered for the COVID-19 vaccine.

He has composed songs for many films including Himmatwala, Namak Halaal and Rocky Dancer. He also recreated his song “Areey Pyar Kar Le” for the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’.
