Amid lockdown, many people are either laid off from their jobs or are kept jobless by cutting their salaries. Entertainment industry is hit poorly due to the pandemic as every sort of shoot and dance has come to a halt. Several dancers that survived on the money they got by dancing are suffering the most.

Sidharth Malhotra turns out to be a helping hand for Bollywood dancers as he extended support to them with the help of his manager. Former background dancer and now a coordinator, Raj Surani shared that Bollywood actor, Sidharth Malhotra has extended help to 200 dancers from his team. No sooner than his video went viral, he got to know and reached out to Raj in order to help the dancer’s team. Sidharth’s manager was the one to connect and co-ordinate with all the dancers. Generous man of Bollywood directly got the money transferred into their accounts. However, not only Sidharth but also Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, producers of ‘Brahmastra’ have also extended aid to their team of dancers.

We also got to know that previously, choreographer, Lizelle, Remo D’Souza, and Bosco Martis had extended aid to the dancers.

Raj revealed that the dancers were set to perform in Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Brahmastra’ before the lockdown. “We were to shoot a song for ‘Brahmastra’ with a lot of dancers, so that loss is there as the song was never shot. I don’t know when it will be shot now and how it will be done because that song had a lot of dancers,” says Raj.

Raj ended the conversation by adding,“Dancers will probably be the last ones to get jobs because people may not shoot songs with many people. Probably four-five months more or till the vaccine comes, I don’t think there is any solution currently. Dancers are taking up alternate jobs too. Many of them have travelled to their hometowns. Our industry was closed from March 19, before the lockdown was announced. So we told them to go to their native place. People are going now too as it is difficult to survive here, pay rent.”
