But, I started post-production. It’s still not full-fledged in terms of speed because of the lockdown and all the guidelines and everything. So, I think still our process will be slow. So, you can understand that already we are late (in post-production) by four months. If we will continue with this speed, our productivity will also will be low. So, I don’t know if I will be able to meet the deadline of January (2021 release of the film).”

The film was earlier scheduled to release on 2nd October’ 20 which was then pushed to 15th January ’21 earlier this year. The new release date was announced by Production house on Twitter. “On March 13th 1940, #SardarUdham singlehandedly assassinated Michael O’ Dwyer in London to honour the lives lost at the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. His story deserves justice onscreen too. Starring Vicky Kaushal, we will now see you in cinemas on 15th January 2021!” read the tweet from the production house.

Amidst the pandemic, many films are waiting for the theatres to re-open while many films are paving their way to straight online release, apart from ‘Gulabo-Sitabo’ films like Shakuntala Devi, Gunjan Saxena, Laxmmi Bomb: The Kargil Girl will be releasing on different OTT platforms.
