Shoaib Malik opens up on his relation with son post divorce from Sania Mirza

Sania Mirza formally parted ways with her ex-husband Shoaib Malik in January 2024, marking the end of their 14 years of marriage. The couple, who share a son together, have always prioritized his co-parenting, despite of their divorce. They have ensured Izhaan Mirza Malik’s well-being remains a responsibility.

However, the dynamics of their co-parenting have sparked curiousity as the former Indian tennis player holds his primary custody. As a result of the same, Shoaib has been facing criticism for not being physically present in Izhaan’s life as frequently as many expect.

Amidst all the criticism, the former Pakistani cricketer ended his silence and shared insights into his approach. He has revealed that he emphasizes to connect more to his son.

During his appearance on Pakistani Ramzan show, he shared that his bond with his son is built on a foundation of friendship.

“Uske saath jo relationship hai woh ek dosti wala hai. He calls me bro, and sometimes I also call him bro. I make sure to visit him twice a month in Dubai, and while I’m there, I personally drop him to school and pick him up,” he said.
