Shahid Kapoor gets candid about his childhood struggles as father Pankaj Kapur stayed busy with work commitments

Shahid Kapoor recently talked about the male presence in the lives of children and admitted of spending a lot of time with his grandfather, due to his father, Pankaj Kapur’s work commitments. “Parents are like two feet on the ground. If one parent is missing, the balance is lost, and the structure doesn’t work,” he said.

The actor got candid during conversation with Raj Shamani and talked about the importance of having a male presence in kid’s life. He opened up how he was very close to his maternal grandfather, who had a significant impact on his life. He felt that his grandfather was stepping in for his father, who wasn’t around every day and was always unconditionally there for him.

The Udta Punjab star recalled memories of his grandfather, including the golf hat that left a lasting impression on him. He mentioned how his grandfather had a watch with a crack in it, that he wore every day. He added that a visual of his grandfather’s large black glasses is something that stays with him.

The Deva star shared the dynamic he shares with his son, and mentioned that the little one feels more secured with him around. While this is also the case with his daughter, but he feels it more with his son.
