He is a well-known actor in Bollywood, having starred in multiple successful films. It’s none other than Shahid Kapoor. He performed background dance in the films Taal, starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Dil To Pagal Hai, starring Karisma Kapoor. He appeared in the songs Le Gai Le Gai and Kahin Aag Lage Lag Jaaye.
From a young age, Kapoor had a strong interest in dancing. He enrolled in Shiamak Davar’s dance school when he was fifteen years old. It is quite interesting to note that Shahid performed as a background dancer for the films Taal (1999) and Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), while he was a student there. Shahid Kapoor debuted in Bollywood with the 2003 film Ishq Vishk, directed by Ken Ghosh. Notably, he trained in acting with Satyadev Dubey and Naseeruddin Shah prior to starting the movie. After that, he starred in Fida (2004) as a young man in love.
Both the comedy Chup Chup Ke and the drama 36 China Town starred Kapoor opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan in 2006. Later that year, Shahid Kapoor made even more of an impression when he costarred with Amrita Rao in the arranged marriage-themed romantic drama Vivah, directed by Sooraj Barjatya. The romantic comedy Jab We Met, which Imtiaz Ali directed, ended up becoming one of the highest-grossing films of 2007. He played Kareena’s opposite in this movie. Shahid went on to star in a number of popular films after that, including Haider, Udta Punjab, Kaminey: The Scoundrels, Kismat Konnection, Kabir Singh, and many more.
Regarding his career, Shahid Kapoor is getting ready for the release of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, a romantic drama. Kriti Sanon plays the lead opposite him in the movie. The movie, which has two directors, Aradhana Sah and Amit Joshi, is slated to open in theatres on February 9, 2024.
