Mumbai Police will provide Shah Rukh Khan with Y+ security cover after the actor complained about receiving death threats following the success of ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’.
King Khan will be followed by six armed security personnel all over the clock under the Y+ security protection. Previously, the popular actor was accompanied by two security guards.
According to officials, the actor recently wrote to the Maharashtra government, telling them that he was receiving death threats following the release of two blockbusters in a row. The Maharashtra government then opted to beef up the security for the well-known actor.
Following threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang, actor Salman Khan was given Y+ security cover last year.
Shah Rukh Khan has already had run-ins with the Mumbai underworld and is known for standing up to threats.
Citizens who face a threat to their lives are given with security cover under Maharashtra government policy. In such instances, citizens must pay a fee or deposit a security deposit in order to be protected.
