Blockbuster movie Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) which was released on 20th October 1995, is about to compete its Silver Jubilee on Tuesday.

On this occasion, the Heart of London Business Alliance has declared that they will put up a bronze statue of the leading stars (i.e Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol) and will be unveiled in London’s Leicester Square. The statue will portray a movie scene that was shot in Tranquility, the heart of the bustling city. The destination marketing director of Heart of London Business Alliance, Mark Williams told MidDay that “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is one of the most successful Hindi films of all time, and this statue is a fitting tribute to the global popularity of Bollywood”. The organizers are expecting to unveil the statue in the presence of Shah Rukh and Kajol in 2021.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge was the directorial debut of Aditya Chopra. The film spins around Shah Rukh Khan as Raj and Kajol as Simran who falls in love with each other. It was the longest-running Indian movie and the most successful movie in Bollywood. Shah Rukh and Kajol are the most popular on-screen pairs. The statue is a tribute to the global popularity of Bollywood.
