On June 24, actress Shabana Azmi had tweeted about an online alcohol delivery company, Living Liquidz. She complained about the scam to which she fell prey. Later, it was confirmed that the company was not involved in the scam. Some fraudsters used the company’s name to dupe people online. She tweeted a clarification and urged the Mumbai police and cybercrime to take legal action against these fraudsters.
She retweeted her earlier tweet, and wrote, “Finally traced the owners of @living_liquidz & it turns out that the people who cheated me are fraudsters who have nothing to do with Living Liquidz! I urge @mumbaipolice and @cybercrime to take action to stop these crooks from using names of legitimate businesses & scamming us.”

According to indiatvnews.com, the director of Living Liquidz, Moksh Saini said that they have reported the case to the police and cyber cell. They also have raised a concern with Google about letting anyone use any name without verification. He stated, “It is extremely unfortunate that there are several people out there who are using not just our name but also of other liquor stores and circulating fake numbers to dupe customers into transferring money in exchange for product and we sincerely hope that the authorities can bring these criminals to justice.”
Shabana Azmi had earlier tweeted about the incident and had accused the online alcohol delivery company. She wrote, “BEWARE I have been cheated by them. #Living Liquidz I paid upfront and when the ordered item didn’t turn up they stopped picking up my calls,” and shared details and mode of transaction. Many of the Twitter users had suggested her to lodge a complaint.
