About Benny Blanco

Benny Blanco is an American record producer, born on March 8, 1988. His fame stems mainly from his contributions to the music industry. Blanco, who is Jewish, started his music career by creating hip-hop instrumentals in his bedroom and recording his vocals over them.

At the age of six in 1994, Blanco was exposed to music for the first time when he listened to cassette tapes featuring the songs “The World Is Yours” by Nas and “I Swear” by All-4-One. These songs greatly influenced his early productions.

After Blanco was signed to Kasz Money Productions, songwriter and producer Dr. Luke became his first mentor.

Renowned music producer Blanco has collaborated on hit songs with several well-known musicians, such as Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Halsey, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, Kesha, Rihanna, Kanye West, Sia, Avicii, Britney Spears, and Selena Gomez. His work has resulted in sales of over 500 million album-equivalent units worldwide.

As a solo artist, Blanco released his debut album ‘Friends Keep Secrets’ in December 2018, but it didn’t do well and peaked at number 41 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album featured collaborations with several musicians including Justin Bieber, Gracie Abrams, Omar Apollo, Halsey, and Calvin Harris.

In August 2022, Blanco collaborated with BTS members Jin, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook, along with Snoop Dogg, for his track ‘Bad Decisions’. He has received numerous awards for his contributions to the music industry, including the iHeartRadio Producer of the Year Award in 2017 and the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s 2013 Hal David Starlight Award.

Blanco’s collaboration with his girlfriend Selena Gomez is evident in her 2019 song ‘I Can’t Get Enough’, where he is listed as a producer. This indicates that the two of them were probably already acquainted professionally before starting a romantic relationship.
