
The Bollywood star Sanya Malhotra was recently caught up in an interview and expressed how she was being ill-treated while traveling back to home in the Delhi metro during her college days. The actress also claimed that none came to her rescue on the train and she felt very much helpless.
When asked if she had any restrictions while growing up, Sanya said that when you stay in Delhi, you need to be assured that you are safe and careful at the same time and it does not concern if the restrictions are implied or not. The artist also spoke about being eve teased while returning from college at 7 or 8 pm and would follow her eventually. Further, she recalled an event when she was being particularly followed and how it made her feel miserable.
The Dangal star confessed, “There was this one time when I took the metro from Green Park station and I was all alone. There were 4-5 boys, and I got a vibe that something is going to go wrong. I was like, ‘I cannot escape this, something wrong will certainly happen.’ Then they started teasing and touching. Usme kitna bhi gussa kar lo na to..kuch nahi hota. I felt very helpless. We say ‘Why did you just listen to it all and not respond or do something?’ Situation aati hai haath pair fool jaate hain you feel like yaha se bas safe nikalna hai,” as quoted by Hindustan Times. Later on, she got out at Rajiv Chowk station and went into the crowd and called her father to pick her up.
The actress said that she learned to drive in her third year of graduation and would be followed by cars sometimes, for that reason she used to cover her face and had constant fear every time going out. Once, she was being touched by a fan on her butt, who had come to click a picture with her and Sanya said that no one objected to it, even the photographers could see it but they neglected it.
On the work front, Sanya is appearing in the Kathal movie, which is streaming on Netflix. Kathal: A Jackfruit Mystery is directed by Yashowardhan Mishra and will showcase the actress in the officer’s role. The story is about two precious jackfruits being stolen from a politician’s garden in a small town in Madhya Pradesh.
