Bollywood filmmakers Aditya Chopra and Sanjay Leela Bhansali were summoned by the Mumbai Police for investigation regarding the Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case. According to the reports, the statements which they gave to the police differ a lot.

Bhansali told to the police that, since the actor was contract-bound with Yash Raj Films at that time, he had to first approach the YRF to allow Sushant to work for his film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ which was released in the year 2015. Later, the production house told him that Sushant’s dates are blocked as he was working for the film ‘Paani’ which was a Shekhar Kapur directorial. The film eventually got shelved due to Kapur’s and Aditya’s creative differences.

On Saturday, Aditya Chopra stated at Versova Police Station, Mumbai and claimed that he was ‘not’ approached by Bhansali for ‘Bajirao Mastani’. He also added that the late actor was allowed to sign a 2016 release ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’, which means that YRF never tried to restrict him from working for filmmaker outside the production house.

Bhansali, on the other hand, had further added to his statement that he had offered Sushant a total of four movies including ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela’ (2013), ‘Bajirao Mastani’ (2015) and ‘Padmaavat’ (2018). All three movies were blockbusters and rolled the charts of the box office. The fourth movie which was offered did not work out for some reason.

However, Mumbai Police are yet to find out that which of this information is baseless.
