The internet and social media were buzzing the day before with suspicions that Shah Rukh Khan’s next film Jawan’s dialogue, ‘Bete ko haath lagane se pehle, baap se baat kar’ was intended at former NCB chief Sameer Wankhede.
In a cryptic post and oblique reaction on X (previously Twitter), the tainted cop tweeted a quote by Nicole Lyons that read, “I have licked the fire and danced in the ashes of every bridge I ever burned. I fear no hell from you.” Netizens are now speculating if this is Wankhede’s way of repaying Shah Rukh, whose latest flick Jawan’s trailer sparked a frenzy on Thursday (August 31), with the sentence ‘Bete ko haath lagane se pehle’ being a talking topic among fans.

The entire show began with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan releasing the official teaser for his next flick Jawan on August 31, as previously promised.
The two-minute-and-45-second short featured the actor in two roles: father and son. Khan can be seen wearing a variety of outfits in the film’s teaser. However, the sentence, “Bete ko haath lagane se pehle, baap se baat kar,” became a talking topic, as netizens perceived it to be an obvious allusion to the entire Aryan Khan and Cordelia cruise drug raid case, which featured Sameer Wankhede at the centre of the scandal.

Former Narcotics Control Bureau zonal director Sameer Wankhede is one of the key suspects in the bribery case involving Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan.
In October 2021, Khan’s son Aryan was detained following a narcotics bust on the Cordelia cruise ship. However, following events cast doubt on Sameer Wankhede’s role, with the officer becoming an accused in the Aryan Khan bribery case.
The series of WhatsApp discussions between Shah Rukh Khan and Former Mumbai Zonal Director of NCB Sameer Wankhede in May 2023 went viral on social media.
The alleged chats between the actor and the ex-NCB official are also included in Wankhede’s petition to have the CBI FIR against him dismissed.
SRK wrote and pleaded Wankhede on WhatsApp on October 14, 2021, more than 10 days after Aryan Khan’s arrest, stating, “You are a good man. Please be kind to my son. My son will break as a human being. I can only plead and beg you as a father. Please. You promised you will reform my child. I would never stand in front of what you are doing. I have just believe in your goodness.”
