In 2021, Aryan Khan, son of Shah Rukh Khan, was arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) along with six others in connection with an alleged drugs racket. The Zonal Director of NCB at that time, Sameer Wankhede, was handling the case, and now, in a recent interview, he shared how he dealt with armies of trolls during the controversy that ensued, and reacted to allegations that Aryan did not have any drugs on him at the time of his arrest.

Post Aryan’s arrest, Sameer was heavily trolled online. When asked if these attacks took a toll on him and his family, he said, during an interview with Zoom Entertainment, “Trolling is entertainment for me. I have faced much worse: bullets, terrorists. These are very small things. Threatening messages are quite funny.”

He added that many people have also praised him for “holding the land of the law equal for all” and that’s all that matters. To his trolls, he would say, “Try harder.”

Following his son’s arrest, SRK made a pointed effort to avoid the media. It was the superstar’s way of protesting against the manner in which the star kid’s arrest was being covered in the news channel. When asked to comment on SRK’s change in attitude, Sameer noted that he has not been following the actor’s actions lately.

Indirectly, however, Sameer reacted to the video, which features Aryan in alleged drunken state. A clip of Aryan and his friends made rounds on social media, to which he said, “I would not like to comment on this person, but, if you talk about 31st, youngsters today think New Year’s eve is meant to get sloshed. No doubt, people should enjoy, but don’t harm your body.”
