Roshni Nadar Malhotra becomes India’s richest woman, ranks third among billionaires

Roshni Nadar Malhotra, an alumnus of Northwestern University and the Kellogg School of Management, assumed the role of Chairperson of HCL Technologies in 2020.

Roshni Nadar Malhotra, Chairperson of HCL Technologies, is now India’s richest woman and the third-richest person in the country following a substantial wealth transfer from her father, HCL founder Shiv Nadar. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the development follows Shiv Nadar’s execution of two gift deeds on March 6, transferring his 47% stake in Vama Sundari Investments (Delhi) Private Limited and HCL Corporation Private Limited to his daughter.

With this shift, Roshni Nadar Malhotra surpasses Savitri Jindal, who previously held the title of India’s wealthiest woman with a net worth of $30.1 billion. Mukesh Ambani remains India’s richest person with a fortune of $88 billion, followed by Gautam Adani at $68.9 billion. Shiv Nadar, who previously ranked third with $35.9 billion, will see his position change as a result of the transfer.
