Legendary filmmaker Shyam Bengal breathed his last on Monday at Wockhardt hospital, Mumbai. The filmmaker passed away at the age of 90, and is known for delivering some of the most memorable films in Indian cinema, such as Nishant, Manthan, and Bhumika. He was also known for frequently collaborating with actors Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi.
The filmmaker was laid to rest today, on Tuesday, and several pictures and videos from his funeral is making rounds on the internet. One of the video shows, veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah paying his last respect to the deceased. The actor can be seen with green colored sweat shirt with brown pants.
His son, Vivaan Shah was also seen in the background. Other actors including Boman Irani, and Rajit Kapoor followed Naseeruddin saab for pay their respects.
Earlier, several notable personalities, from both Bollywood and political world – paid tribute to the legendary filmmaker. Indian President and Indian Prime Minister Droupadi Murmu and Narendra Modi, respectively, also took to their official X handle, formerly known as Twitter, to share condolence for the family members and admirers of the loved ones.
