Veteran actor Ratan Chopra aka Abdul Jabbar Khan passed away on Friday night, 12th June, ’20. The actor’s most famous role was in the film Mome Ki Gudiya opposite actress Tanuja. Chopra also died of cancer, the actor was not keeping well for a log time. Reportedly, the 70-year-old actor’s financial conditions were extremely bad due to which he couldn’t even afford proper treatment.

Just a few days ago, Amar Ujala reported, Ratan had sought help from Bollywood actors like Akshay Kumar, Dharmendra and Sonu Sood. He was impressed by Sonu’s selfless work for the migrants. And since he also hails from Punjab he had felt that at least these aforementioned actors would come forward to offer him financial support.

The actor died in his ancestral home in in Punjab’s Maler Kotla. The actor relied on temples and Gurudwaras for his meals. Chopra’s adopted daughter Anita has confirmed the news of his death.

his family was against his decision of acting in films and therefore, he refused all the film offers he received after starring in Mome Ki Gudiya and he finally put a lid on his acting career at the behest of his grand mother. The actor didn’t get married and with his failing health he was left with no care during the last phase of his life.
