Director Nishikant Kamat, best known for his films Drishyam and Madaari passed away at a private hospital in Hyderabad at a age of 50. He was admitted on 31 July with ‘Jaundice and abdominal distention’. He was also diagonsed with liver cirrhosis and secondary infections and was under intensive care.
Jaywant Wadkar, marathi actor confirmed the news to Indian Express, “I was in touch with producer Ajay Rai, who is close associative of Nishikant Kamat. Nishikant passed around 10:30am today in Hyderabad. The process of bringing his body to Mumbai is still on”.
Kamat made his directorial debut with Marathi film “Dombivali Fast” in 2005. And his Bollywood debut was with ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’ in 2008. The director is popular for directing Bollywood films like Drishyam, Madaari, Force and Rocky Handsome.
