Lyricist of songs like Vaada Raha Sanam Anwar Sagar breathed his last today, 3rd June, ’20. He died in Kokilaben Memorial Hospital. However, the cause of Anwar’s death has not yetbeen reported.
Anwar had been a prominent lyricist of the 90s and he has penned lyrics for songs in films like Yaarana, Salaami, aa Gale Lag Jaa, Vijaypath, Sapne Sajan Ke and many more.
Some of his famous songs include, ‘Yeh Dua Hai Meri Rab Se’ from Sapne Sajan Ke starring Karisma Kapoor and Jackie Shroff, ‘Aashiqui Mein Har Aashiq’ from Dil Ka Kya Qasoor starring Shah Rukh Khan and Divya Bharati and many more, but the one song that has been etched in the memories of every 90s kid is undoubtedly, Waada Raha Sanam from the Akshay Kumar, Ayesha Jhulka starrer Khiladi. He has been one of the most reerred lyricist in the film industry.
