On June 14, 2020, actor Sushant Singh Rajput passed away. After his death, the CBI assumed responsibility for the investigation and put actress Rhea Chakraborty, who was allegedly the former’s rumoured girlfriend, under notice with a lookout circular (LOC).
To temporarily suspend the circular so that she can travel overseas for a professional function, Rhea has now filed an application with the Bombay High Court. The case is scheduled to be heard by the High Court on December 20.
In 2020, after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, the government probe agency published a circular against the actress. The Free Press Journal reports that Rhea Chakraborty has now petitioned the Bombay High Court to challenge the decision and request a temporary suspension of the LOC since she needs to leave India for a work-related trip. The court will hear the matter on December 20.
Chakraborty’s legal representative, advocate Abhinav Chandrachud, stated that the circular was released almost three years prior to the CBI filing the case.
When the actress’s counsel asked whether Rhea had visited any foreign nations since the lawsuit was filed, a bench led by Justice Ajay Gadkari responded positively. The actress was entitled to travel almost thrice after being granted bail in the case, but Abhinav Chandrachud stated that the LOC prevented her from making use of the opportunity.
