In a recent interview, while promoting his film, Ranbir opened up about the growing controversy over certain scenes. The actor stated, “There is a certain section of the audience that plays….to this narrative that… what’s the right word, toxic or certain things. But a movie is a movie, it’s about a certain character. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to be that person or you need to endorse the fact that this is his personality so I also need to be like that.”

Ranbir further said that films are about characters, as Kabir Singh was relating to a particular character. Likewise, Animal focuses on a specific characters. He advised that people who easily get triggers should stay away from this movie. As actors we are here to entertain and movies should be viewed with that perspective in mind.

Netizens reacted to this stance with mixed perceptions. One wrote, “Any art of literature influences people, and it always has consequences and repercussions. You can’t overlook it by saying, “Oh it’s a movie. Just see it as a form of entertainment.” Another comment read, “Cinema is only cinema. Take it like that. Don’t go for Animal if you get things too personally..this man is a masterpiece himself. Animal is a blockbuster.

Animal is roaring high overseas and in domestic cinemas. The film is all set to cross the Rs 500 crore benchmark and set historical records. Other than Ranbir, the film features Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Triptii Dimri in key roles.
