Ram Gopal Varma shares throwback picture from the sets of ‘Masoom’

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma shared a throwback picture from the set of his 1983 movie, Masoom.

The legendary filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma shared a throwback picture on his social media handle from the 1983 movie, Masoom. He also addressed the innocence of director Shekhar Kapur in the picture.

It was a monochrome picture featuring the lead of the movie Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi, and the child actors Jugal Hansraj, Aradhana Srivastav, and Urmila Matondkar. He captioned the picture as “See how MASOOM @shekharkapur is looking standing next to his actors from MASOOM.”

A fan commented, “Awesome pic and awesome Movie, ThanQ for Sharing.” While the other praised Shekhar Kapur and commented, “I always feel Shekhar Kapoor could have made more movies.” A Twitter user pointed towards Urmila Matondkar and wrote, “I see Urmila there, lovely.”

The movie Masoom revolves around the life of Devendra Kumar, played by Naseeruddin Shah. His life gets devastated after he learns about his illegitimate child from a past affair. His wife gets disturbed by knowing the fact and struggles to maintain their married life.

The movie was one of the biggest hits at that time. It had some of the best songs, dialogues, and brilliant performances by all the actors. The film was adapted from the 1980 novel ‘Man, Woman and Child’ written by Erich Segal.

One of the child actors was played by Urmila Matondkar. The actress was later cast in the 1995 movie, Rangeela as the lead. The movie proved to be successful and kickstarted her Bollywood career. She was later seen in movies like Judaai, Satya, Ek Haseena Thi, and many more.
