Bigg Boss Marathi contestant, Rakhi Sawant, who recently announced that she tied the knot with businessman Adil Khan Durrani last year, got him arrested on February 7, following a case of assault, extramarital affair as well as stealing money and jewellery from her house without her knowledge.
Adil was brought to the Oshiwara police station for questioning and was later arrested in the morning hours of Feb 7. According to the police official, Rakhi filed an FIR against Adil under IPC sections 406 (breach of trust) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) on Monday night in addition to the recently added section related to dowry harassment on Tuesday morning. Providing further information, the official said, that Rakhi got in touch with Adil in January 2022 and they had opened a joint business account, and Adil allegedly withdrew more than 1.5 crores in June 2022. Rakhi also accused Adil of threatening to throw acid on her and escaping with 5 lakhs and jewellery worth 2.5 lakhs, the official further said.
In, a viral video Rakhi was seen talking to the reporters outside the police station, with her brother Rakesh Sawant, about how Adil kept calling her the entire day to talk about the police complaint when she suddenly fainted and was taken to her car.
Rakesh Sawant, the brother of Rakhi Sawant, has charged Adil Durrani of trying to kill the actress. On Tuesday, he made the significant allegation while addressing the media. Adil, he claimed, tried to kill Rakhi despite her valiant efforts to rescue their marriage.
“This is an attempt to murder and even today he threw a glass at her. He tried to kill her. He thinks he can take away Rakhi’s property after her,” Rakhi’s brother claimed.
A group of people gathered around Rakhi could be seen in the video pouring water on her to bring her to her senses. She is seen carrying a phone in one hand and a purse in the other while wearing a yellow blouse and grey track trousers. One viewer spotted Rakhi holding her phone closely even after passing out in response to the video. The user allegedly stated, “Himmt he bandi me phone haath se nhi girne diyaa aaisa chakkar mujhe bhi khana he.” Another person said, “Bechari.. However, kuch sah rhi hai. She is sincere this time. Another said, “Chakkar a gye pr beg or phone nhi choda ye konse chakkar h bhai.”
