Many fans flocked to theatres today to see the “first-day-first-show” (FDFS) of the blockbuster film Jailer, which stars Rajinikanth. A Japanese couple travelled from Osaka to Chennai to see the movie amidst all the commotion outside the theatres. Rajinikanth fan club head Yasuda Hidetoshi, who is from Japan, arrived with his companion.
In a video shared by PTI, Hidetoshi speaks in Tamil saying, “To see the Jailer movie, we have come from Japan to Chennai. So happy to be watching the 169th film of the superstar.” He also mouthed the famous dialogue “Hukum-Tiger ka Hukum” (Tiger’s order) the one-liner from the film that has gone viral.

A Twitter user named Achilles (@Searching4ligh1) tweeted that Japan, which even has fans learning Tamil because of Rajinikanth (a Japanese singing a Rajinikanth song was attached as proof for this claim) had a very limited release this time, and therefore all shows are already fully booked.
“It is a Rajinikanth film, so of course it will be welcomed with festivities. Even if we don’t conduct fan shows like we used to, the fans’ enthusiasm remains unabated. In Tamil Nadu, the film is being screened on 900 screens, all of which are decorated for the holidays,” said Tirupur Subramaniam, head of Tamil Nadu’s Theatre Owners’ Association to PTI.
PVR Cinemas, on the other hand, asserts that more than 1.3 lakh tickets have already been reserved in its theatres across the nation.
According to Ashish Saksena, COO-Cinemas at BookMyShow, Jailer has so far gathered approximately 900,000 tickets on their platform because of the impending holiday weekend, which also includes Independence Day on August 15.
Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, and Nelson Dilipkumar co-star in the Nelson Dilipkumar-directed film Jailer, albeit the parts they are playing haven’t been made public yet. Ramya Krishnan, Tamannah, Vinayakan, and comedian Yogi Babu are part of the ensemble. It features Anirudh Ravichander’s music.
