Rajinikanth-starrer Annaatthe’s shoot suspended as crew members test positive for COVID-19

In a statement posted by Sun Pictures, the production house for Rajinikanth-starrer Annaatthe, it is revealed that four crew members tested positive for COVID-19

The shooting of Annaatthe starring superstar Rajinikanth has been suspended after four crew members test positive for COVID-19. Sun Pictures, the production house behind Annaatthe took to Twitter to confirm the news. The production house also clarified that Rajinikanth and other crew members tested negative for COVID-19.

In their statement, Sun Pictures wrote, “During routine testing at #Annaathe shoot 4 crew members have tested positive for Covid19. Superstar @rajinikanth and other crew members have tested negative. To ensure utmost safety #Annaatthe shooting has been postponed.”

Earlier, the shooting for Annaatthe was paused due to the Coronavirus induced pandemic and resumed in the second week of December. The production for the film starring Rajinikanth, Nayanthara and others, began in Hyderabad. Rajinikanth took a chartered flight to Hyderabad with his daughter Aishwarya Dhanush.

The makers had planned to finish the film in one single stretch as the production was in its last stages. The film is written by Siva and has a star-studded cast in supporting roles including Khushbu, Meena, Prakash Raj, Sathish and Soori.
