Rajat Mukherjee dies: ‘Pyar Tune Kya Kiya’ director passes away, Manoj Bajpayee, Anubhav Sinha, Hansal Mehta express grief

Director Rajat Mukherjee, who had directed films like ‘Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya’, ‘Love in Nepal’, passed away on July 17 in Jaipur due to kidney failure and infections in the lungs.

Year 2020 has been one of the worst years for the Bollywood industry. On July 17, industry has suffered yet another loss as the director Rajat Mukherjee passes away. According to the reports of Filminformation.com, Rajat was suffering from kidney problems due to which he was admitted to the hospital. His death happened due to failure of kidney and infection in the lungs.

Rajat Mukherjee is well know for his movies like, ‘Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya’, ‘Road’, ‘Umeed’ and ‘Love in Nepal’. Bollywood celebrities like Manoj Bajpayee, Hansal Mehta, Anubhav Sinha mourned over this sad news and condoled his demise on their social media handles.

Hansal Mehta tweeted for the late director saying, “Just got news about the passing away of a dear friend. Rajat Mukherjee director of Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya and Road was a friend from our early, early struggles in Bombay. Many meals, many bottles of Old Monk consumed. Many more to consume in another world. Will miss you dear friend.”

The ‘Thappad’ director, Anubhav Sinha tweeted, “Another friend gone too soon. Director Rajat Mukherjee (Pyar Tune Kya Kiya, Road). He was dealing with multiple health situations past few months in Jaipur. Go well mate.”

 

‘The Family Man’ actor, Manoj Bajpayee tweeted, “My friend and director of Road ,Rajat Mukherjee passed away in the early hours today in Jaipur after a long battle with illness!!! Rest in peace Rajat !!Still can’t believe that we will never meet or discuss our work ever again.khush reh jaha bhi reh.”
