On Friday afternoon, news agency ANI reported that the businessman and husband of actress Shilpa Shetty will be sent to police custody until July 27 in the alleged pornography case. Earlier, post his arrest he was after being produced before the court he was sent to police custody till July 23. As per the reports, the bail plea of Raj Kundra has been rejected. The police also informed the court that it was suspected that Raj was using the money he earned from pornography to gambling online.

According to the reports by ANI, “The police informed the court that it was suspected that Raj was using the money he earned from pornography to gambling online.”

ANI also tweeted, “Maharashtra: Police produced Shilpa Shetty’s husband & businessman Raj Kundra and Ryan Thorpe before Magistrate Court and sought 7 days further police custody, in connection with a case relating to the production of pornographic films.”

Yet another tweet by ANI on the case read, “Police suspect that money earned from pornography was used for online betting. This is why transactions between Raj Kundra’s Yes bank account and United Bank of Africa account need to be investigated, Mumbai Police tells Court.”

On July 19, Raj was arrested by the police and the Mumbai Police Commissioner called him the “key conspirator”. According to Milind Bharambe, the joint commissioner of police (crime), Raj Kundra had a tie-up with a London-based company involved in streaming pornographic content via Hotshots, a mobile app.
