On Wednesday, the Mumbai Crime Branch revealed that Raj Kundra used to run his adult film business via WhatsApp groups. Raj Kundra was found to be the admin of 3 such groups that were established to ensure the ease of operations for the shooting of adult films and their proper distribution on the app Hotshots. As per the recent reports of Mid-Day, the Crime Branch has informed that the businessman used to assign tasks to the employees on the three groups.

The 3 WhatsApp groups were named HS-account, HS-operation and HS-take down. Raj discussed all matters relating to content, subscribers, payments, and transactions in the first group, HS-account. The content of the adult films, as well as the logistics of the shoot, were planned in the second group, HS-operation. He and his associates also sent the final links of edited video clips to the UK production house in this group. All issues concerning copyright and piracy were discussed in the third group, HS-take down. According to the report, if another website used Hotshots content, such issues would be discussed in the WhatsApp group, and the team would also send legal notices. Raj Kundra had a team in place to prevent piracy of Hotshots content.

A Crime Branch officer told Mid-Day, “Investigation has revealed that Kundra used to handle work through WhatsApp groups as well. The important fact is that he was the admin and operational head of all these three groups.”

It was also revealed that his business had expanded dramatically during the lockdown last year and the businessman used to earn at least Rs 8 lakh per day. The Crime Branch raided his office and has managed to seize a server and recovered at least 70 videos. Raj Kundra is currently under judicial custody along with Ryan Thrap till July 23.
