Shilpa Shetty’s husband, famed businessman Raj Kundra, has been accused of uploading pornographic content through various mediums, according to media reports. While he was apprehended by the crime branch in Mumbai last week, he was placed in judicial custody until July 23, which was later extended until July 27. Meanwhile, the crime branch has been conducting thorough investigations into the case, and new information is being revealed on a daily basis.
Raj Kundra has filed a petition to have the police custody overturned, as well as a request for bail in the case. The Bombay High Court in the hearing of the case today sent Raj Kundra in judicial custody for 14 days. As per the reports by ANI, not only Kundra but also another accused in the case, Ryan Thorpe, has been sentenced to 14 days in judicial custody.
Meanwhile, following the raid conducted at Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra’s Juhu bungalow, Crime Branch had recovered the server. They also obtained approximately 70 porn videos, which were allegedly shot by Kundra’s former PA Umesh Kamat.
Actress Shilpa Shetty was also questioned about her involvement in the case. She claimed and clarified that she has is not involved in the racket and further said that Raj, her husband is also innocent and she and her husband are not involved in the production of pornographic content, as well as that she has no connection to the HotShots app.
A police official informed ANI, “She (Shilpa Shetty) said that the movies available on Hotshot are not pornography but erotica. She also said that nowadays, similar content is available on the various OTT platforms and in fact, some are more obscene than what is available on Hotshot.”
