Priyanka Chopra has been enjoying her stardom for twenty years now and is regarded as one of the most successful Bollywood actresses. However, filmmaker Anil Sharma recent unveiled that her career could have been over even before the beginning. The actor is said to have had a bad botched up nose surgery in the earliest stage of her career and was disastrously laid off from almost all productions she was involved in. But Sharma says he prevented her from moving back home.
During a conversation with Siddharth Kannan for his YouTube channel, Anil, who directed Priyanka in her Bollywood debut The Hero, shared in specific, it was alleged that Priyanka had been to a cosmetic surgeon after developing a ‘botched nose job’, in a bid to resemble Julia Roberts. But the filmmaker insists it was ‘a medical operation that went bad’ and that it ‘wasn’t her fault’.
But yes, after the mishap, PeeCee did lose a couple of deals and she even approached Anil to return a signing amount of Rs. 5 lakh, which she took for The Hero. “I said you keep the money and I scolded her a bit. She then told me what actually happened with her nose,” the filmmaker revealed.
He continued that her parents had already moved back to Bareilly, and they had planned to return with Priyanka after a year as she needed time to heal. However, the director was able to convince the actress to stay back and made her debut with The Hero. She then tasted the success of box office the same year with movies such as Aitraaz, Barfi and Mary Kom. In mid-2010’s she shifted to the US, she began second part of her career with TV series Quantico later she worked major films and shows including the Matrix 4 and Citadel.
