Priyanka Chopra recently discussed a person she respects and looks up to. She has been promoting her most recent series, Citadel, for the past month. She said that while she admires Angelina Jolie’s job and life decisions, there are some parallels between them as well. Both performers began their careers at an early age and have grown up in the spotlight.
The daughter of seasoned actor Jon Voight, Angelina Jolie made her acting debut in 1993’s Cyborg 2. She did, however, appear in the 1982 movie Lookin’ to Get Out alongside her father. Following her victories in 2000 as Miss India World and Miss World, Priyanka made her debut as a teenager. She made her acting debut with the Tamil film Thamizhan (2002) starring Vijay. With Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta in The Hero: Love Story of a Spy (2003), she made her maiden Bollywood debut a year later.
A follower on Twitter posted a video of Priyanka praising Angelina and her life decisions in an interview she gave for Prime Video while Citadel was being promoted. The fan captioned the video, “Priyanka Chopra talking about all the things she admires of Angelina Jolie, always is amazing to see a queen supporting another queen.” The actor says in the clip, “One of the females I’ve really admired for a long time has been Angelina Jolie. I think her choices have been so interesting.
She’s sort of grown up in front of everyone and that happened to me as well. I was 17 when I started. But her choices in her work, in her life, in her family, all of them I find very admirable”1.
It is evident that Priyanka Chopra respects Angelina Jolie for making unique decisions in her career, personal life, and family. She also notices similarities between them because they both began their careers at an early age and grew up in the public eye.
