Poacher: Alia Bhatt’s crime-drama tops Indian charts; Here’s how the actress celebrated her big moment

Alia Bhatt is also co-producing Vasan Bala’s ‘Jigra’ alongside Karan Johar

Bollywood’s top actress Alia Bhatt has ventured into production, recently taking to social media to celebrate the success of the crime drama web series ‘Poacher’. As the show’s executive producer, Bhatt conveyed her happiness and appreciation for the positive reception the programme has received.

On February 24, Bhatt posted a sweet photo of herself and her cat Edward to Instagram, using a background that showed every episode of the streaming show “Poacher.” She expressed her thrill at the series achieving the top spot in India within a day of its release, inviting fans to watch it on @primevideoin if they haven’t already, in her caption.

“Poacher,” which is directed by Richie Mehta, who won an Emmy for his series “Delhi Crime,” is based on actual incidents involving poaching in India. With Bhatt serving as executive producer, the series features a remarkable cast that includes Nimisha Sajayan, Roshan Mathew, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Ankith Madhav, Kani Kusruti, Suraj Pops, Ranjita Menon, Vinod Sherawat, and Snoop Dinesh. On February 23, “Poacher” made its Amazon Prime Video debut.

Bhatt discussed her process for creating films and television series, stressing the value of acting right out of a script when choosing to participate in a project. She talked about her involvement in a number of projects where she believes other actors are a better fit for particular roles than herself.

Previously, Bhatt had praised “Poacher” on Instagram, calling it one of the best shows she had watched in a long time. She conveyed her appreciation for being connected to such potent narrative that has a profound effect on the audience.

On the acting front, Bhatt most recently starred in the critically and commercially successful romantic drama film “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,” directed by Karan Johar. In addition, she debuted in Hollywood with Gal Gadot in “Heart of Stone.” Bhatt is now working on “Jigra,” a film by Vasan Bala that she and Karan Johar are co-producing. The crew just finished filming the movie.
