Pankaj Tripathi recalls roaming around Andheri saying, ‘Koi acting karwa lo’

Actor Pankaj Tripathi recalled his struggling days and said that he used to roam around Andheri asking for work, now he gets offers in the parking lot.

Pankaj Tripathi is now a well-established actor in the Hindi entertainment industry. But he had to face years of struggle to reach this position. Recalling his early career days, the actor said that he used to roam around Andheri asking for roles and now he gets offers in a parking lot. He even mentioned that he didn’t earn any money for 6 years and his wife used to take care of all the expenses.

In an interview with a Hindi daily, Pankaj said, “To be honest, I did not earn anything between 2004 and 2010. She (his wife Mridula) bore the burden of all expenses involved in the upkeep of our household. I used to roam around in Andheri and urge people ‘koi acting karwa lo, koi acting karwa lo (someone please give me an acting job)’. But no one listened to me at the time. Now, when I go home, I find movies being offered in my parking lot.”

Earlier, I struggled but found no jobs even when I searched for them in Andheri, but now there are queues of movies being offered right in my parking lot. During those struggling days, Mridula used to take care of all the expenses, from the house rent to other basic needs.”

Pankaj Tripathi was seen in the recently launched ‘Mimi’. Actress Kriti Sanon played the lead in the film that also starred other actors like Sai Tamhankar, Manoj Pahwa, and Supriya Pathak. Mimi is streaming on Jio Cinema and Netflix.
