Pankaj Tripathi: I am not the brand ambassador for creating awareness against drug abuse

Pankaj Tripathi broke the silence and clarified that he is not an ambassador of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and had shared that message creating awareness against drug abuse on a special request.

Actor Pankaj Tripathi has been a leading name in the Bollywood industry for the past few years. He was seen on almost every OTT platform and has been praised for his work. Recently, the actor had shared a message about drug abuse through a video. Later, it was assumed that he was associated with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

In an interview with ETimes, the actor was asked about this speculation. The Ludo actor said that he was not associated with NCB nor he is an ambassador. He made the video on a request by an officer for awareness purposes. He said, “The report was false. I am not the brand ambassador for creating awareness against drugs abuse. On Anti-Drugs Day, I was being requested by a senior officer from Bihar-Jharkhand to share an awareness message, following which I created one for him. Nowadays, during the social media era, the news gets twisted easily. When that video started working, people started saying that I’ve been made the brand ambassador.”

Further, he said, “Main brand ambassador nahi hoon, brand ambassador samaan bechta hai koi (I am not a brand ambassador. Brand ambassadors sell products). Awareness laana hai mujhe (I want to bring about awareness). I am also related to Khadi in Bihar; I promote it, which is at least a product, NCB is not a product. Only for awareness, I had created a video, that’s it!”

Pankaj Tripathi’s latest movie, Mimi, was released on Monday. Kriti Sanon was seen in the lead role of a surrogate mother. The actor also has movies like Laal Singh Chadha and Bachchan Pandey in the pipeline along with several web series.
