Mahira Khan married her longtime partner Salim Karim in an intimate ceremony on October 1. For her wedding, Mahira donned a powder blue lehenga with detailed and heavy mirror work. Her son accompanied her down the aisle.
Salim Karim is Mahira Khan’s second husband. Previously, the actress was married to Ali Askari. They married in 2007 and divorced in 2015. Azlaan, the couple’s son, was born in 2009.
Mahira recently shared a glimpse of her mehendi ceremony and her dress for the occasion.
“Right before we were heading down.. Asim put a whole string of motias on my arm..just because.. he is Asim and I’m his mahiru.. forever InshAllah,” she captioned the photos.
Mahira shared beautiful photos from her mayun ceremony, which was organised by her friends, after her wedding photos. She posted photos of herself wearing a white suit and her mayun costume hanging beside her.
Mahira wrote a post on Instagram about her mother’s efforts, who is wheelchair-bound. The actress made a particular tribute to her maternal and paternal grandparents.
She wrote, “My mother had one wish… to start the wedding with a dua. My beautiful Ama, who is in a wheel chair – one would think she can’t do much – but really, she can do everything and anything. She sat and managed the decoration downstairs, the table, the moving around of furniture anddd she was ready dot on time..Alhumdulillah for our parents”
Mahira added, “Later on that day, my childhood girlfriends had a mayun for me. Alhumdulillah for friends I can call my sisters. P.S I took a bud of the motia and put it in my baali before going down.. for my Nani and Dadi”
Mahira is dressed in two different outfits in the photos. One was a finely embroidered powder blue churidar with a lovely dupatta. The other outfit was orange with a green border. She picked mogra blooms and used them to embellish her earrings. Mahira was surrounded by loved ones who had come to celebrate with her.
