Oscars 2024: Kareena Kapoor Khan applauds Oppenheimer actor Robert Downey Jr for his first Academy Award

The 96th Academy Awards was held on the 10th of March at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. This year’s Oscars Awards turned out to be a milestone for the entire team of Oppenheimer movie. Christopher Nolan won the Best Director Award. Cillian Murphy won the Best Actor Award. While Robert Downey Jr won the Best Supporting Actor Award. And Oppenheimer won the Best Film Award.

Robert Downey Jr won the category for his exceptional performance in Oppenheimer. He was seen playing the role of Lewis Strauss. The actor’s acceptance speech has been buzzing on the internet and fans are pouring in their heartfelt wishes. Seems like Kareena Kapoor Khan has also joined in to share her warm wishes for the actor.


Kareena Kapoor Khan took to her Instagram account and shared a video of Robert Downey Jr’s speech from the 96th Academy Awards. She captioned the video by writing, “Genius.” Robert’s speech caught eyeballs due to his witty humour. The actor stated, “I’d like to thank my veterinarian; I meant wife Susan Downey over there. She found me, a snarling rescue pet, and loved me back to life. That’s why I am here, thank you.”

The actor further added, “Here’s my little secret: I needed this job more than it needed me. Chris knew it, Emma made sure that she wrapped – surrounded me with one of the greatest cast and crews of all time.”

Oppenheimer was the star of the ceremony as the film won 7 awards in total. Best Actor, Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Original Score, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Film Editing Award were all bagged by Oppenheimer and the entire team. Other films nominated for the best film category were Barbie, Killers of The Flower Moon, and Poor Things.
