Socialite Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, along with seven others, has been booked by the Jammu and Kashmir Police for allegedly consuming alcohol at a hotel in Katra, the base camp for the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. Orry, Russian national among those booked
Among those named in the FIR is Russian national Anastasila Arzamaskina, who was present with Orry and his friends during the incident. The FIR (No. 72/25) has been lodged at Katra Police Station under sections related to violating the District Magistrate’s orders and allegedly hurting religious sentiments. The other accused individuals include:

Zero-tolerance policy in Katra—Police to send notices to all accused
Katra’s Cottage Suite area, where the group was allegedly caught drinking alcohol, has strict rules prohibiting alcohol and non-vegetarian food to maintain the religious sanctity of the site. Following a complaint from locals, SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh emphasized that the authorities have a zero-tolerance policy for any actions that disrupt the religious atmosphere.
Reasi Police issued a statement, saying:
“A special team, under the supervision of SP Katra, Dy SP Katra, and SHO Katra, has been formed to investigate the matter. Notices will be sent to all accused individuals, including ORRY, instructing them to join the probe. SSP Reasi has reiterated that anyone violating the law, especially by indulging in activities like alcohol or drug consumption at religious sites, will be dealt with strictly.”

The incident has drawn strong condemnation from political figures, including Sunil Sharma, Leader of Opposition in Jammu and Kashmir. Sharma expressed disappointment that religious sentiments were hurt by a Bollywood figure, calling the actions completely unacceptable at such a revered site. He welcomed the police’s swift action and the filing of the FIR, urging for strict legal measures against those involved.
